UQ Oral Health Centre
The Building
The University of Queensland’s Dental School has moved from its original premises on Turbot Street in Brisbane to a new facility at Herston. The new facility consists of seven levels, plus a small plant room on Level 8, and incorporates car park areas, 170 dental clinics, research laboratories, library and study areas, lecture theatres and seminar rooms, office areas for administration staff and a book shop.
The Project
The building, which was designed by Cox Rayner Architects, features a number of atriums and voids, breezeways and link bridges.
Waco Kwikform was commissioned by Lend Lease to develop a D&C scaffold solution. This comprised an intricate scaffold placement to allow for multiple trades as the structure and facade elements were completed. Our solution involved the design of specialist infills to closely follow the complicated contours of the building structure and facade.
