St Stephen's Hospital
The Building
The St Stephen's Hospital Project in Hervey Bay involved the extension of the existing day surgery into a 96 bed hospital with three operating theatres, a medical centre and full digital capability. The building also incorporates a healing area, which is a courtyard with rainforest landscaping. The project was jointly funded by the Uniting Church ($50 million dollars) and the State Government ($50 million dollars).
The Project
The project involved 5000 square metres of perimeter scaffolding and a further 5000 square metres of additional scaffolding (some of which was stepped birdcage scaffolding) for a large number of link ways and atriums.
Due to the design features of the building, the precision required during set out of the scaffolding was a key reason for Waco Kwikform being selected to provide the scaffolding solution for the project.
Cockram Constructions was confident that Waco Kwikform’s scaffolding solution was the right choice for the project, with our in-house engineering department able to provide the complex design and our project management and labour coordination delivering the best possible service.
